Makis Voridis and his family, along with friends, came under a violent attack Saturday night (26.10.2025) while dining at a restaurant in Heraklion. Voridis had arrived in Heraklion ahead of the 28th of October celebrations. The assault was carried out by approximately 50 organized hooded individuals who threw eggs, chairs, wood, stones, and tables, shouting slogans against New Democracy and Voridis personally. The serious incident occurred in the Plateia Peiraios area, above the harbor, causing panic. Other customers began running for safety, while some helped Voridis and his group escape to the restaurant’s basement until police arrived. Police rushed to the scene, cordoned off the area, and safely evacuated the former minister. The restaurant sustained damage, but no injuries have been reported. Information from neakriti.gr
