Athens Stock Exchange: Minor Gain for General Index at Session Close

Stock prices closed with a marginal gain in today’s (2.10.2025) session at the Athens Stock Exchange, as they failed to maintain intraday gains despite positive sentiment across major European markets. Among large-cap stocks, Titan, Viohalco, OPAP, and Optima outperformed. The General Index closed at 2,057.26 points, up 0.04%, after reaching an intraday high of 2,069.57 (+0.64%). Trading volume reached 195.85 million euros, with 38,303,954 shares traded. The large-cap index rose slightly by 0.08%, while the mid-cap index declined by 0.96%. Top gainers among large caps included Titan (+3.91%), Viohalco (+3.36%), OPAP (+2.74%), and Optima Bank (+2.38%). Biggest losers were Piraeus Port (-2.57%), Coca Cola HBC (-2.16%), OTE (-1.66%), and Piraeus Bank (-1.48%). Intralot and Eurobank led in trading volume with 8.86 million and 8.68 million shares traded respectively. Eurobank recorded the highest trade value at 29.59 million euros, followed by Alpha Bank at 27.10 million euros. Overall, 53 stocks rose, 54 fell, and 19 remained unchanged. Notable gainers were Kyriakouli (+4.46%) and Ekter (+4.33%), while Haidemenos (-9.91%) and Optronics (-9.42%) saw the steepest declines.
