Athens Stock Exchange: General Index Rises to 1,885.86 Points with 0.96% Gain

The Athens Stock Exchange is showing positive momentum during today’s trading session (July 1, 2025), reaching a new 15-year high. Banking stocks are at the center of investor interest. Specifically, the General Price Index of the Athens Stock Exchange stands at 1,885.86 points, reflecting an increase of 0.96%. Trading volume has reached €124.52 million.

The large-cap index rose by 1.07%, while the mid-cap index gained 0.17%. Among large-cap stocks, Alpha Bank (+3.61%), Eurobank (+2.30%), Piraeus Bank (+1.97%), and Coca Cola HBC (+1.83%) posted the biggest gains. On the flip side, Sarantis (-2.58%), METLEN (-1.43%), and Titan (-0.78%) experienced the sharpest declines.

Alpha Bank and Eurobank recorded the highest trading volumes with 6,196,429 and 4,191,115 shares traded respectively. National Bank led in transaction value with €32.29 million, followed by Alpha Bank with €19.32 million.

Fifty-two stocks are up, 44 are down, and 20 remain unchanged. The largest gains were seen in Dohmiki Kritis (+6.82%) and Kyriakoules (+6.56%). Meanwhile, Mermeren (-5.41%) and Lanaka (-4.63%) suffered the steepest drops.

Trading of Intralot shares has been temporarily suspended at the request of the Hellenic Capital Market Commission until there is further information for investors regarding business developments. In response to the Commission’s inquiry about media reports on a potential acquisition of a foreign company, Intralot stated it is in the final stages of negotiations and will promptly provide timely updates.
