Athens Stock Exchange Closes at 16-Year High

Athens Stock Exchange closed with significant gains on February 4, 2026, marking its third consecutive rising session and reaching a 16-year high. The General Index ended at 2,407.07 points, up 1.56%, surpassing 2,400 points for the first time since December 2, 2009. Over the past three sessions, the index gained 3.98% cumulatively; year-to-date gains stand at 13.50%. Market capitalization rose by €2.4 billion compared to the previous session. Total trading value reached €399.13 million, with 54.85 million shares traded. The large-cap index rose 1.61%, while the mid-cap index gained 0.90%. Top gainers included Lamda Development (+6.29%), Optima Bank (+5.30%), Elvalhalcor (+4.91%), Coca-Cola HBC (+3.61%), ELPE (+2.57%), and Viohalco (+2.45%). Titan (-3.87%) and Aktor (-0.93%) were the top decliners. Alpha Bank and Eurobank led in trading volume, while Ethniki and Alpha Bank led in trading value. Of the listed stocks, 58 rose, 41 fell, and 28 remained unchanged. Doppler (+9.41%) and Centric Συμμετοχών (+6.83%) posted the strongest gains; YKNOT (-7.55%) and Real Consulting (-4.39%) the steepest losses.
