Significant changes to evening services on Athens Metro Line 3 took effect from Sunday, 28 June 2026, due to ongoing rail replacement works. As a result, the stations Megaro Moussikis, Ambelokipoi, Panormou, and Katechaki will close at 9:40 p.m. — two and a half hours earlier than usual — every Sunday through Thursday.
Altered Service Hours and Final Trains
During the works, metro operations on Line 3 will be limited to the section between Dimosio Theatro – Evangelismos and Ethniki Amyna – D. Plakentias – Airport.
The last trains departing before station closures are scheduled as follows:
- From Dimosio Theatro to D. Plakentias: 9:05 p.m.
- From Syntagma to D. Plakentias: 9:30 p.m.
- From Evangelismos to D. Plakentias: 9:32 p.m.
- From Megaro Moussikis to D. Plakentias: 9:33 p.m.
- From Ambelokipoi to D. Plakentias: 9:35 p.m.
- From Panormou to D. Plakentias: 9:37 p.m.
- From Katechaki to D. Plakentias: 9:39 p.m.
- From D. Plakentias to Dimosio Theatro: 9:30 p.m.
- From Ethniki Amyna to Dimosio Theatro: 9:40 p.m.
- From Katechaki to Dimosio Theatro: 9:41 p.m.
- From Panormou to Dimosio Theatro: 9:43 p.m.
- From Ambelokipoi to Dimosio Theatro: 9:45 p.m.
- From Megaro Moussikis to Dimosio Theatro: 9:47 p.m.
Airport Services
The final airport-bound trains will depart at:
- Syntagma to Airport: 9:30 p.m.
- Dimosio Theatro to Airport: 9:05 p.m.
- Airport to Dimosio Theatro: 9:10 p.m.
After 9:40 p.m., all airport-bound trains will originate from Ethniki Amyna, and all trains arriving from the airport will terminate there.
Additional late-night services between Ethniki Amyna and the Athens International Airport will run at:
- From Ethniki Amyna to Airport: 10:17 p.m., 10:54 p.m., and 11:30 p.m.
- From Airport to Ethniki Amyna: 9:46 p.m., 10:22 p.m., 10:58 p.m., and 11:34 p.m.
Replacement Bus Service
To support passengers, OASA has introduced a temporary bus line, X21, operating between Evangelismos and Ethniki Amyna metro stations from 9:40 p.m. until the end of regular metro service (Sunday–Thursday).
