Athens Half Marathon: Strong Participations in the Panhellenic Championship

The Panhellenic Hemimarathon Championship is held on Sunday (10/3) in the city center, alongside the 12th International. The leading athletes and athletes of the middle and long distances will be on the starting line in order to enjoy the new route and claim medals. Panagiotis Karaiskos (NGS Hercules) is the winner of the league in the five previous events and the athlete who will claim his sixth victory. Nikos Stamoulis (GAS Agrinio) comes from good performances last season and is expected to be one of the main protagonists, while with interest is expected the presence of Dimitris Tsakalos (GS Amarousiou), Charalambos Pitsolis (GAS Ilissos) and George Minos (OSPH). In women Anastasia Marinakos (PAO) may be a rookie in the distance – as she specializes in 5,000 m – but she claims the gold medal with claims, as well as marathon champion Gloria Privileggio (GS Glyfadas). A good presence will also be claimed by Vasiliki Konstantinopoulou (APC Neapolis). On the starting line will be the and last year’s winner Ismini Panagiotopoulou (OKA Kavala). On a new route will be conducted all 5km with thousands of runners enjoying new parts of the city. Among the runners that stand out are George Stamoulis, George Tassis Maria Cassos, Vasiliki Kallimoyannis, Zoe Andricopoulou, Petros Papaioannou, Kostas Drosos. The racing program also includes the Family race Run for primary children and their escorts, as well as Special Olympics.
