The total added value of Athens Brewery to the Greek economy reached €763 million, as highlighted by Sebastian Sanchez, the new Managing Director of the company, during the presentation of the 2024 Social and Economic Impact Study on June 23, 2025. Specifically, the added value of Athens Brewery increased by 85% in 2024 compared to 2021. This amount represents 0.32% of the country’s GDP, establishing the company as one of Greece’s most significant industrial presences. Importantly, for every euro directly contributed to the GDP, an additional €4.90 of added value is generated in the Greek economy. Additionally, the company’s total contribution to public revenue in 2024 amounted to €764 million, equivalent to 0.70% of total state tax revenues. In terms of employment, the company impacts approximately 37,000 jobs directly, indirectly, and through induced effects, marking a 40% increase compared to 2021, with around 14,000 households benefiting from its activities. Mr. Sanchez emphasized that the data leaves no room for doubt: Athens Brewery is now a fundamental and stable force in the Greek economy. Despite challenges in beer consumption due to weather and economic pressures in 2025, prospects remain positive. The company is also investing €65 million over the 2024–2026 period, focusing on enhancing brand presence, operational improvements, and green investments. Environmental actions focus on reducing carbon emissions and water usage, with all electricity needs covered by green sources and water consumption reaching historic lows at both Patras and Thessaloniki facilities.
