Armed Ring of Three Caught Stealing Bags and Wallets from Travelers at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport

Three individuals, including a minor, were arrested on Saturday (14.06.2025) when police caught them red-handed stealing a bag from a passenger in the waiting area of the Eleftherios Venizelos Airport. The suspects are accused of conspiracy to commit theft and violating the Immigration Code. On Saturday morning, while conducting patrols at the airport, officers witnessed a 26-year-old, a 28-year-old, and a 17-year-old taking a passenger’s bag just before boarding an international flight. They were immediately apprehended on charges of theft. Further investigation by the Security Department of the Athens Airport Police revealed two additional theft cases linked to the suspects. During the investigation, numerous wallets and bags, counterfeit travel documents, and $1,500 in cash were seized. The suspects have been handed over to the competent prosecutor.
