Aris Mugopetros, the clarinet virtuoso who lost 2.5 fingers on his right hand due to an explosion of a grenade he was holding last Easter, is undergoing a difficult recovery process and frequently visits KAT Hospital for medical check-ups. On Friday (04.07.2025), during one such visit, he had the chance to meet Greece’s Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis. The two engaged in a meaningful conversation regarding Mugopetros’ health condition and rehabilitation journey.
In addition to their discussion, the pair posed for a commemorative photo, which Mugopetros later shared on his personal Instagram account. This hospital visit marked part of his scheduled medical follow-up after sustaining life-altering injuries, as he continues working slowly to regain his everyday rhythm and independence.
Mugopetros has been vocal about his determination to overcome obstacles. In a recent post, he said: ‘After two months, I came back to something I loved most—next to music. Even though I knew it wouldn’t be the same and that my body could do only so much, I still came. I did it to show myself that I exist, that I’m alive, that I breathe! Excuse my expression, but obstacles are meant to be jumped over—including those who put them in front of us. We must never give up; we must hold our heads high. No matter how long or difficult the road may be, I have unlimited patience and immense strength to reach the finish line—and finally prove to myself how important I am. Because willpower, faith, persistence, and patience combined can make the impossible possible.’
His resilience and positive outlook continue to inspire many across Greece.
