The first moments after the shocking accident involving the firecracker were described by Aris Moukopoulos’s girlfriend, who was one of the people who transported him to the hospital for initial medical assistance. As the woman explained during the broadcast of “The Morning Show” on Wednesday morning (April 23, 2025), Aris Moukopoulos fainted several times during the at least 45 minutes it took to reach the hospital in Tripoli due to the pain, blood loss, and shock. At another point, she emphasized that all he kept saying was that he wanted to see his children and wife. Suddenly, she heard a loud noise, went outside, and saw Aris injured. Despite the chaos, she managed to keep her composure and attempted to move him into a car to drive him to the Panarcalian Hospital. During the journey, Aris lost consciousness. The family now demands accountability from the person who gave him the firecracker, while doctors are fighting to save his right hand. Moukopoulos, unaware that the object was a firecracker, thought it was something like a cake when someone handed it to him. His wife, Dimitra, tearfully stated that their lives have been turned upside down and expressed hope that the person responsible will come forward.
