Argos: Building in Archaeological Site Restored After Lina Mendoni’s Outburst

in

It has been nearly two weeks since the heated exchange between Culture Minister Lina Mendoni and Alkestis Papadimitriou, the head of the Argolid Antiquities Ephorate. At the heart of the public controversy was an image of neglect showing a building within the archaeological site in Argos. The structure, located in the central archaeological area, presented a picture of complete abandonment, with walls covered in graffiti. This sight prompted a fierce reaction from Culture Minister Lina Mendoni during her televised visit. According to exclusive images released today (07.04.2025) by MEGA TV, the building has now been cleaned and repainted, presenting a significantly improved appearance. However, the previous state of disrepair had enraged Mendoni, leading to an intense dialogue with Papadimitriou. In front of colleagues and local authorities, Mendoni sharply questioned the responsible official about why the building was left in such a state. Despite the tension, the issue seems resolved as the building now reflects better stewardship of Greece’s cultural heritage.
