Archbishop of Albania Anastasia: Discharge process initiated

Efforts to get out of the artificial coma began the treating doctors, as they are in progress in the process of awakening it, in order to gradually detach it. According to his physicians at the Evangelism Hospital, Archbishop Albania Anastasios has been subjected since Tuesday 14/01/2025 to a process of gradual reduction of sedative drugs in order to disconnect himself from the ventilator. CORVERSE It is a particularly delicate, complex and time-consuming process, which can last even days. Since no complications arise and signs of improvement appear, the process will continue until it is fully awakened and the intubation system is removed. This procedure is judged by doctors to be imperative, as the patient’s prolonged stay in the ventilator carries the risk of infection by endosometic microbes. MISCELLANEOUS Archbishop Anastasia: Remains in critical condition The 95-year-old – and particularly dear to the Panhellenic – Hierarch, is under the close supervision of doctors of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Hospital “Evangelism” who, under the scientific supervision of Professor Pneumonology and Intensive Therapy, Anastasia Kotanidou, are doing everything in their power to help him come out victorious in this huge battle. It is worth noting that thanks to these brave efforts of the doctors of Evangelism, the Archbishop is still alive, as he was facing a direct risk of survival when he was rushed to Greece with an aircraft of our air force from Albania.
