Electronic applications have opened today for the second cycle (2026–2027) of Greece’s daycare center program. The initiative—officially titled “Promotion and Support of Children’s Access to Preschool Education, and of School-Age Children, Adolescents, and Persons with Disabilities to Creative Employment Services”—covers enrollment of infants and toddlers in daycare centers, school-age children and adolescents in Creative Employment and Development Centers (KDAΠ), and children and adults with disabilities in KDAΠ for People with Disabilities (KDAΠ ΑμεΑ).
Key Innovation: Vouchers for Large Families
A major update in this new cycle—co-funded by the European Social Fund+ under the Greece National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) 2021–2027 and national budget resources from the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family—is the introduction of income-free vouchers for large families. Infants, toddlers, and children from families with four or more children are now eligible for vouchers covering participation in infant, toddler, and preschool centers—regardless of household income—as long as their application is valid.
Minister of Social Cohesion and Family Domna Michailidou stated: “We said it—and we’re making it happen: Infants, toddlers, and children from large families—that is, those with four or more children—can now receive vouchers for infant, toddler, and preschool centers without income criteria. With an annual budget of €393.5 million, we’re supporting children’s participation in care services, preschool education, and creative employment programs—and strengthening large families in practice.”
Who Can Apply?
Eligible applicants include parents or legal guardians, foster parents, trustees, co-guardians, and other legally appointed representatives of infants, preschool- and school-age children, adolescents, and persons with disabilities who wish to enroll beneficiaries in these services.
