The application platform for the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs’ (DYPA) new skills upgrading and retraining program closed today, March 11, 2026, at 12:00 PM. Officially titled “Programs for Upskilling and Reskilling in High-Demand Sectors, with Emphasis on Digital, Green, and Financial Literacy Skills” (OPSI Code TAΑ 5227573, Action 16913), the initiative drew strong interest: a total of 237,505 applications were submitted by employed workers over the application period — confirming significant demand for professional development aligned with evolving labour market needs.
Funded by EU’s NextGenerationEU
The program is open to salaried employees in Greece’s private sector and is co-financed by the European Union under the NextGenerationEU recovery instrument, as part of Greece’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan, Greece 2.0. It aims to help workers acquire or upgrade competencies in fast-growing, future-oriented fields.
Eligibility and Implementation
Up to 114,384 private-sector employees are expected to benefit. Training will be delivered via the government’s training voucher system and consists of 150 hours total:
- 149 hours of asynchronous online learning
- 1 hour of synchronous online instruction
Upon completion, participants will sit certification exams administered by independent accreditation bodies. Those who pass will receive the full training allowance of up to €750 (gross).
Next Steps
The official list of approved and excluded beneficiaries — the Registry of Beneficiaries – Employees — will be published in a forthcoming announcement on the DYPA website.
