Aphrodite Latinopoulou, spokesperson for the political party The Voice of Reason, expressed confidence on Monday morning (29 June 2026) during the Mega TV show Koinonia Ora Mega that her party will enter the next Hellenic Parliament — and do so with a strong vote share.
Rising Prices and Energy Market Criticism
Latinopoulou highlighted persistently high prices for essential goods, supermarket items, and ferry tickets. She blamed the government’s economic policies — which she described as rooted in ‘socialist ideology’ — for ongoing inflationary pressures. Central to her critique was Greece’s Energy Exchange, a market mechanism introduced to regulate electricity pricing. Latinopoulou called it a ‘farce’, stressing that The Voice of Reason is the only party demanding its abolition.
She argued that the Energy Exchange creates unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles for new energy companies, requiring them to navigate ministerial approvals and political gatekeeping before even launching operations — effectively stifling competition and innovation.
Tax Reform and Fair Fiscal Policy
On taxation, Latinopoulou advocated for a flat tax system — a uniform rate applied equally to all private businesses — alongside a €15,000 tax-free allowance. She rejected what she termed ‘predatory’ prepayments, trade levies, and other measures she labelled as socialist and economically damaging to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
While supporting robust anti-tax-evasion controls, she opposed mass audits or blanket suspicion of taxpayers — referencing Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s past enforcement actions as heavy-handed and unjustified, especially since they were not announced during the election campaign.
Support for Small and Medium Enterprises
Latinopoulou positioned SMEs — numbering around 700,000 in Greece — as the backbone of the national economy. She asserted that her party is the only one speaking openly and fearlessly in their defence, pledging full support for the private sector as the central pillar of Greece’s economic recovery.
‘The issue is ending socialism and moving toward a liberal economy,’ she said. ‘We must give SMEs room to breathe — because they are the ones fighting every day to sustain our economy.’
New Political Forces
In closing, Latinopoulou reaffirmed her party’s electoral momentum, stating plainly: ‘The Voice of Reason will enter Parliament.’
