Honda’s Swindon plant is largely linked to the Japanese company’s presence in the Old Continent, and its closure is, therefore, a major and in many ways “shocking” market.
Especially for the local market that will be burdened, with the loss of many jobs and turnover in stores due to the reduction of income for a large part of the local population.
The factory is located in the southeast of Wiltshire, built on the old South Marston Airport.
Its work began in 1985 and was obviously an important moment in the history of the city.
This period, from 1985 until today, means that for many the Honda factory was the professional station that brought them to retirement age.
