Actor Antonis Kafetzopoulos experienced quite the ordeal when he was arrested yesterday, Tuesday (01.04.25), during a police raid at his home in Alimos. During the investigation of Kafetzopoulos’s residence, police discovered several firearms, prompting authorities to proceed with his arrest. The police raid was conducted following a judicial order issued by Heraklion, Crete. Officers found three blank-firing pistols, a revolver, and numerous unfired cartridges. Kafetzopoulos was later released on verbal orders from the prosecutor. It is worth noting that all the pistols were confirmed as blank-firing and not standard firearms. In response to the incident, Kafetzopoulos posted on social media expressing relief that a prosecutor had thought logically and released him with explicit instructions. He recounted how five officers, accompanied by a judicial representative, arrived at his home early in the morning. They were authorized to conduct a search based on laws concerning illegal weapon possession. Kafetzopoulos handed over the inert and fake weapons he has used since 1994 in various performances, films, and series. Despite being initially detained, he was released thanks to the prosecutor’s decision. Legal proceedings will follow where Kafetzopoulos plans to defend his right to artistic realism in theatrical productions. Was it a good April Fool’s joke? Mr. Kafka?
