On Sunday afternoon, June 28, 2026, Nikos Androulakis, president of PASOK – Movement for Change, visited Kalithies in Rhodes, accompanied by MPs and party officials. During his visit, Androulakis argued that Greece urgently needs political change—and that PASOK is positioned to offer a credible alternative government.

‘Now Is the Time for Political Change’

“Now is the time for political change—change with PASOK, backed by a clear program, strong personnel, and independence from vested interests,” he said.

Androulakis criticized the New Democracy-led government, describing its seven-year tenure as “seven lost years”—marked by stagnation and systemic decay. On the economy, he contended that the Recovery Fund has failed to deliver expected results, noting that growth remains overly reliant on real estate rather than productive investments that generate new jobs.

Economic Pressures and Regional Neglect

He also accused the government of neglecting regional development and highlighted mounting challenges—including soaring living costs, unaffordable housing, and growing strain on the health system. “People are experiencing an unprecedented wave of inflation—on food, healthcare, and rent. That’s why political change is essential,” he stated.

Concluding his remarks, Androulakis expressed confidence that PASOK can channel public demand for renewal. “Citizens want change—and PASOK can deliver it.”

Among those accompanying Androulakis were MPs Giorgos Nikitiadis and Dimitris Mantzios; Organizational Secretary Heraklis Droulias; Panagiotis Boulieris, coordinator of PASOK’s regional branch in the Dodecanese; and numerous local party officials.
