Amfipolitis: The Events Leading Up to the Murder of a 51-Year-Old Godmother by a 54-Year-Old Man

Step-by-step, the events that preceded the murder of a 51-year-old godmother by a 54-year-old man in Pigadia, as revealed by newsit.gr, have shocked the nation. The incident occurred at 4:20 PM on June 24, 2025. In the village of Perdikaki, located six kilometers from the crime scene, both the perpetrator and the unfortunate mother of three were present around 3:00 PM. The 54-year-old was at the local café with his group, while the 51-year-old was shopping nearby. ‘He was here but nothing seemed unusual. He came and sat as usual after the cheese factory. No one noticed anything bothering him. He was at the café for about three hours, sitting with three other people and didn’t drink much,’ said the café owner to newsit.gr. According to reports, when the 54-year-old saw his godmother leaving the store and entering her car, he greeted his group and headed towards his vehicle. On the way to the Pigadia settlement, the 54-year-old passed the woman on the road. He waited for her outside her house in the village square at a kiosk. A few minutes later, the woman parked her car and approached him upon being called. They conversed for about two to three minutes before the 54-year-old abruptly left for his car, retrieved a single-barreled pistol, and shot the 51-year-old woman in the head. He then turned the gun on himself and committed suicide. Just before the incident, a local resident had passed by and witnessed them talking. The same woman heard the gunshots and rushed to the scene, finding them dead in a pool of blood.
