“About a month ago, they had their koumbaro over for the night, and he kept them up until dawn,” a close friend of the 51-year-old victim told newsit.gr. She described him as an abrupt man with a difficult character. The brutal murder of the 51-year-old by her 54-year-old koumbaros has shocked the local community in Amfilochia and plunged her family into mourning. “We spoke ten times a day; my close friend never mentioned fearing this man. A relationship between them was out of the question. He was an unpleasant person who drank excessively and we couldn’t stand him when he passed by,” the friend added. He had an obsession with a singer. “He harassed all women, calling them names. Earlier, he was fixated on a singer, believing she wanted him. He spent all his money on champagne and flowers, even bought her a car, but after she married someone else, he went insane and started harassing every woman.” According to the close friend, the killer’s relationship with the victim’s family wasn’t close, though they met occasionally during holidays. “About a month ago, my friend told me that the koumbaros visited and stayed overnight because they were celebrating. He didn’t visit often.” The same source described him as vaccine-denying and unpredictable. “When you saw him, you could tell he was psychopathic. His mood would change suddenly, making conversation impossible. I didn’t tell him I got vaccinated because I knew he reacted violently to such topics.” Another resident recounted the tragic events: “There were no financial disputes between the families. The husband is devastated, unable to believe his wife is gone, repeatedly asking why this happened.” Finally, the witness detailed the sequence of events: “It happened when the young woman went to the market and waited outside while drinking coffee nearby. As she returned home, the man left the café, drove recklessly, and waited for her outside. When she arrived, they argued, he insulted her, then said he’d return in three minutes with something. He went home, retrieved a gun, and shot her upon his return.”
