All Five Passengers Dead in Finland Helicopter Mid-Air Collision

All five passengers aboard the helicopters that collided mid-air today (May 17, 2025) have been confirmed dead, according to an announcement by Estonia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to FlightRadar24 data, both helicopters had taken off simultaneously from Tallinn, Estonia’s capital, though their final destinations remain unclear. A representative from Finland’s General Headquarters stated that no Finnish military or international military helicopter was involved in the incident. ‘One helicopter fell like a stone, the other more slowly, gradually. I didn’t hear any noise,’ said a local resident who witnessed the two helicopters flying close together. Authorities are currently investigating the causes of the tragedy that led to the deaths of all passengers on board.
