Officially recognized as the most ‘luminous’ municipality in Greece, Alimos has claimed the top spot in the first nationwide evaluation of local government organizations. The municipality excelled in the electricity category and secured second place overall, just behind Glyfada. Beyond its electrical services, Alimos was also highly praised for other critical services such as recycling, digital services, municipal communication, animal care, social structures, and cleanliness. Mayor Andreas Kondylis expressed his gratitude to the active citizens who daily take responsibility for the care of Alimos. Highlighting the impartial nature of the assessment, which was based on citizen opinions, Kondylis credited deputy mayors, municipal councilors, administrative staff, and employees for the recognition. Known internationally for its stunning beaches, Alimos boasts approximately 60,000 residents. Kondylis is currently serving his third term, having been re-elected with a 70% majority. “We take a deep breath of satisfaction,” emphasized the mayor. “Our hard work pays off, and our efforts are recognized at a national level. We regroup and continue striving for an even better Alimos. Beautiful city, beautiful people – thank you for your trust.”
