Tsipras at 'I'll Tell You Myself' Revue

Alexis Tsipras and Betty Baziana Attend ‘I’ll Tell You Myself’ at Lykavittos Theatre

Former Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras attended the satirical revue I’ll Tell You Myself at Athens’ Lykavittos Theatre alongside his partner, Betty Baziana. The show — a sharp, fast-paced political comedy — drew a notable audience, including numerous Greek artists.

A Political Revue with Bite

The production features sketches that lampoon Greece’s current political landscape — including humorous jabs at the founding of Tsipras’s new political party, EL.A.S. (Hellenic Liberation and Solidarity). Written by Gerasimos Evangelatos and Dimitris Chaliotis, with original music by Themis Karamouratidis, the revue is directed by Vangelis Theodoropoulos and performed by an ensemble cast: Dimitris Piatas, Eleni Kokkidou, Dimitris Makalias, Giouli Tsangarakis, Jérôme Kalouta, Syrmo Keke, Maria Diakopanagiotou, Alexios Vidalkakis, and Thanasis Isidorou.

Backed by a live four-piece band, the show delivers incisive humour, relentless energy, and unapologetic political satire — holding up a funhouse mirror to contemporary Greek reality. It skewers personalities, policies, and cultural obsessions with equal zeal.

‘Greece 2.0’ — A Satirical Rollercoaster

The revue’s promotional text describes it as a wild, unfiltered take on modern Greek life: beloved prime ministers, ‘woke’ agendas, theatre lovers chasing sold-out shows, self-styled patriotic ‘Trumpian’ figures in gold chains, and corporate buzzwords flooding public discourse. It mocks overworked employees on 16-hour shifts, supposedly ‘incorruptible’ prosecutors melting before favourite ministers, left-wing figures in identity crises searching for their own Ithaca, and a PM’s communications team auditioning for TikTok followers.

Ministers inaugurate bombed-out hospitals; ambassador-superstars conduct diplomacy on racetracks; mothers hand out jackets at Pride roadblocks. With biting one-liners and subversive wit, the show remixes headlines and daily life alike.

The stage — like Greek society itself — overflows with branded cafes, Airbnb listings, latte macchiatos, and business meetings about energy security and AI sustainability. Meanwhile, in Kolonaki, Aristea and Individual Responsibility enjoy brunch: quinoa bowls and avocado toast.

I’ll Tell You Myself is set to tour major open-air theatres across Attica and Greece this summer — spreading laughter, the one thing our chaotic reality continues to offer generously — all through the irreverent lens of political revue.
