Alexandra Sdoukou Criticizes PASOK’s Childish Explanations Over Lampsa and Occupied Areas

In a direct attack on PASOK, sparked by the presence of its Political Council member Paulina Lampsa at an event and her meeting with the leader of the pseudo-state in the occupied areas, New Democracy’s spokesperson Alexandra Sdoukou voiced her criticism. ‘Initially, we did not see even a single statement from Charilaou Trikoupis regarding the presence of Ms. Paulina Lampsa, a member of PASOK’s Political Council, in a meeting with the leader of the pseudo-state, at the so-called “presidential palace” in the occupied areas,’ Sdoukou emphasized in her statement. She continued: ‘Only after the immediate and public mention by government representative Pavlos Marinakis about the provocative lack of any reaction from their side, PASOK resorted to an entirely childish explanation, stating that Ms. Lampsa participated solely in her “academic capacity,” and the issue… was considered closed. As if the problem is the capacity and not the action itself.’ The culmination of this problematic stance by the party of the official opposition was highlighted yesterday by Panagiotis Vlachos, a member of PASOK, on the Blue Sky television station, where he astonishingly claimed that ‘it is worse to participate in an event organized by the Truth Group than to be involved in meetings in the occupied areas.’ Sdoukou concluded: ‘He thereby equates, in an unacceptable manner, Ms. Lampsa’s meeting with the Turkish Cypriot leader of the pseudo-state with participation in an open event in Greece. Even now, despite the significant delay, we expect a more responsible response from PASOK on such a serious matter.’
