“Kaiti Konstantinou was coming from chemotherapy during the filming and played every scene with dedication,” said Alexander Antonopoulos in an interview on Breakfast@star with Ilias Skoulas. The renowned actor spoke about the loss of Kaiti Konstantinou. “I am family with Michalis Repas and Thanasis Papathanasiou, but that doesn’t mean I’m involved in all their projects. They decide if someone fits the role they’ve created, and if you don’t, no matter how close you are, they won’t cast you,” he began. “‘Jella Delafrika’ was in a tough spot after Kaiti’s passing. Continuing without her is out of the question; she was irreplaceable. It upsets me just thinking about replacing Kaiti. Yes, she wasn’t always well during filming, but she was a soldier! She came straight from chemotherapy to set and delivered every scene with commitment,” said Antonopoulos. “They told her, ‘Kaiti, maybe you shouldn’t do all the scenes,’ because her role was immense, but she simply replied, ‘No.’ With dedication and selflessness, she worked tirelessly and was exceptional,” added Antonopoulos.
