Alco Poll: ND Leads PASOK by 14.3 Points — Karystianou’s Popularity Drops

According to a new Alco poll for Alpha TV, New Democracy (ND) maintains a comfortable lead over PASOK, with 25.1% support in vote intention compared to PASOK’s 10.8% — a gap of 14.3 percentage points. All other parties trail in single digits.

New Parties Struggle to Gain Traction

The poll shows declining momentum for the two newly announced political initiatives — one led by former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and the other by MP Maria Karystianou. Both figures appear to be losing positive voter sentiment compared to earlier surveys. Just 16% of respondents hold a favorable view of a potential new party from Tsipras, while 43% express negative feelings. For Karystianou’s initiative, 22% respond positively and 35% negatively.

Widespread Political Disaffection

Half of Greek citizens — 50% — say no existing party represents them meaningfully. Only 45% believe there is currently a party that expresses their views to a significant degree. Meanwhile, 68% agree that political change is necessary to achieve justice and accountability.

Government Under Pressure

The ruling coalition faces mounting public scrutiny. Half of respondents (50%) believe the recent court ruling on the illegal surveillance scandal politically exposes the government; another 17% lean toward agreement. Cost-of-living concerns remain central: though 67% say prices for basic goods have not risen recently, the issue continues to weigh heavily on public sentiment.
