A new Alco poll commissioned by Efimerida ton Syntaktōn shows gains for New Democracy (ND) and the Greek Left Coalition (ELAS), while PASOK and the ‘Hope for Democracy’ party led by Maria Karytsiou see declines.

Party Support Shifts

New Democracy rose to 24.4%, up from previous readings, while ELAS climbed to 15.3%. PASOK fell to 9.7%, placing third — down from earlier levels. ‘Hope for Democracy’ also declined, slipping to 6.4% from 7.8% in June.

Hellenic Solution followed in fourth place with 6.9% (up from 6.7%), then ‘Hope for Democracy’ (6.4%), the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) at 6.2% (down from 6.4%), Freedom Movement at 3.6% (up from 3.1%), MeRA25 at 2.7% (up from 2.3%), Voice of Reason at 2.5% (up from 2.3%), Victory at 1.4% (unchanged), SYRIZA at 1.2% (down from 1.3%), and Democrats at 0.5% (down from 1%).

Public Skepticism Toward Samaras’ Potential Return

When asked how likely it would be for them to vote for a party launched by former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, 83% of respondents said it was ‘slightly’ or ‘not at all’ likely. Only 12% considered it ‘fairly’ or ‘very’ likely.

Top Public Concerns

Cost of living emerged as the dominant concern among respondents, cited by 51%. Corruption followed at 22%, institutional performance at 9%, crime at 6%, and migration at 4%. Education and housing each received 2%.
