Alarm to the Capitol: Man arrested for driving on a sidewalk

A man was arrested today (02.01.2025) by U.S. police, after driving his car onto a just west of the imposing building. U.S. Capitol Police officers “trace a car that drove along the sidewalk, near Peace Circle, and in the grass area near Third Street, northwest and Constitution Avenue” at around 10 a.m. Thursday morning,” the section said in a statement. CORVERSE Dozens of police officers rushed to the scene and a man was detained shortly afterwards. Police officers who arrested the driver are investigating his suspected vehicle. The video published shows someone being arrested by Capitol police amid a large police presence. Nearby roads are closed and people are invited to avoid the area as the search for the suspected vehicle continues.
