The AKTOR Group and Motor Oil have signed a preliminary agreement under which AKTOR will acquire a 50% stake in GAS Pipeline S.A. — the special-purpose company responsible for developing and operating Greece’s floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) for liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Strategic Energy Infrastructure Move
According to AKTOR’s official announcement, the two companies have agreed on the core terms of the transaction. GAS Pipeline S.A. is the vehicle behind the FSRU project, a key energy infrastructure initiative designed to enhance Greece’s energy security and diversify its natural gas supply sources. The unit is expected to connect directly to Greece’s National Natural Gas Transmission System.
Broader Investment Strategy
This move aligns with AKTOR’s broader business plan to become a leading industrial force in Southeastern Europe by 2031, backed by a €3 billion investment commitment. The group aims to diversify its revenue streams and expand into high-growth sectors — particularly LNG and critical energy infrastructure.
Next Steps and Conditions
The deal remains subject to several conditions, including finalization and signing of definitive agreements, as well as obtaining all necessary corporate, regulatory, and other required approvals. AKTOR has confirmed it will continue to inform investors in line with applicable disclosure rules as the transaction progresses.
