On the landing Thursday (09.01.2024) the 24th fighter plane which is part of the power of 332 squadron “Geraki”. With the 24th Rafale of the Air Force landing at Tanagra Airport, the acquisition of these French-built aircraft was completed, based on the order made by Greece. CORVERSE Greece had originally ordered 18 Rafale aircraft and then added 6 other 4.5 generation fighter planes. The combination of the aircraft’s integrated self-protection system and Meteor missiles brings new data to the air race, beyond the visual horizon. With Meteor missiles Rafale creates the so-called “area ban” as their range of more than 100 km prohibits any hostile move before the opposing aircraft enters FIR Athens. Rafale fighters have joined 332 Squadron, which has operated operationally over a year. Greek Rafale participates in both NATO and national Allied exercises while they have joined the weekly programming of increased alert aircraft.
