A chilling murder mystery is unfolding in Aigio, Greece, as forensic DNA and biological evidence has yielded no conclusive leads. According to information made public on Thursday, June 18, 2026, no blood was found on the washed clothing of the 65-year-old Italian suspect—accused of killing his 54-year-old partner and her 26-year-old son inside their home in Aigio.

No Forensic Traces Found

Investigators also confirmed that no DNA was recovered from under the suspect’s fingernails, nor were any fingerprints found on the firearm or knife used in the crime. The air rifle (flopper) used to kill the 26-year-old left no gunpowder residue—a detail complicating efforts to reconstruct the crime scene.

Suspect Remained at Scene for Hours

Authorities are examining all possible scenarios, but the 65-year-old remains the primary suspect. He reportedly stayed with the victims’ bodies for approximately six hours—an extended window during which he could have cleaned the crime scene and staged evidence to support his innocence.

The suspect has consistently claimed since the beginning that he was asleep, heard nothing, and only woke up feeling unwell—prompting him to rush to the bathroom and take a shower. He says he then washed and hung out his underwear and a towel. He further alleges that the two victims killed each other—a theory contradicted by forensic findings: both victims sustained dozens of stab wounds.

Digital Evidence and Suspicious Clean-Up Efforts

Despite the lack of physical evidence, authorities remain unconvinced and plan to examine mobile phones and computers recovered from the home, hoping digital activity logs may provide new leads.

When police arrived at the residence in Aigialeia, they detected strong odors of alcohol and chlorine. Despite extensive searching, officers failed to locate the household’s mop and bucket—items investigators believe may have been used to clean bloodstains and later destroyed or buried.

The only bloodied fingerprints discovered so far belong to the deceased 54-year-old woman. It has also been confirmed that the 26-year-old was killed while asleep.
