Agria: Major Shoe Warehouse Fire Engulfs City Center in Smoke

A major fire broke out Sunday morning (01.02.2026) in a shoe warehouse in central Agrinio, triggering an emergency response from the Hellenic Fire Service. Dense smoke blanketed the city as firefighters battled intense flames. The fire appears to have spread to an adjacent shoe store. Traffic has been suspended on Tsiknia Street from its intersection with Zoödochoú Pigís Avenue to prevent vehicles from entering Eirinis Square and Kypros Street. A crane-equipped vehicle is assisting in firefighting efforts.
