Agios Panteleimonas: Two Suspects Arrested in Murder of 31-Year-Old Ukrainian – 48-Year-Old Co-Inhabitant Cleared

Almost a month after the shocking murder of a 31-year-old Ukrainian man inside his home in Agios Panteleimonas, authorities have identified and arrested the perpetrators. The incident occurred on the morning of October 10, when the victim’s 48-year-old roommate was attacked by two men outside their residence. The suspects, aged 29 and 38, forced the man to open the apartment door at knifepoint. According to ELAS investigations, the attackers tied up the 48-year-old and inflicted serious stab wounds to his head and body. They then waited for the 31-year-old Ukrainian to return home before restraining and fatally assaulting him. The intruders stole construction tools, electrical appliances, and broke into a safe. The suspects were apprehended on November 6 by Athens’ Criminal Investigations Unit following surveillance operations. A criminal case has been filed against them for premeditated murder, grievous bodily harm, abduction, robbery, drug offenses, weapons violations, and possible defiance of authority. The 38-year-old attempted to flee upon seeing police but was quickly subdued. A third suspect remains under investigation. Searches at the suspects’ homes uncovered clothing used in the crime, 106 grams of processed cannabis (hashish), raw marijuana, stolen tools and devices, 40 rounds of ammunition, a revolver, a hammer, and four precision scales. Both detainees have been transferred to the competent prosecutor.
