In just a few days, it will be one year since the tragic killing of Kyriaki Griba by her ex-partner outside the police station in Agioi Anargyroi in April 2024. The perpetrator, who stabbed her to death, continues to receive treatment in the psychiatric wing of Koridallos Prison. Sakis Griba, the father of the victim, emphasized, “In fifteen days, we mark one year since the loss of my daughter. And this degenerate, this scoundrel, remains in the psychiatric ward while everyone has confirmed he is fit.” He reiterated his demand for the mobile phones of the officers on duty at the time of the murder to be reviewed. “We wanted to see what they were doing during that time. What shocked them so much? Was it that my daughter was stabbed, as they claimed they were shocked, or did they see some other video on social media that affected them and prevented them from acting appropriately?” Regarding the whereabouts of the four officers involved, Griba stated, “The supervisor has retired. She doesn’t care anymore. The dispatcher and another officer have been transferred elsewhere. The guard was about to leave the force and has now been discharged. They will pay small fines and that’s it. Now we talk about penalties… very lenient ones, essentially mocking the situation and letting them off!” Griba recounted how he learned about his daughter’s death from a journalist. On the morning after the murder, unaware of what had happened, he went to work as usual. A journalist, Anna Triantafyllia Tsoutsa, informed him of the tragedy. Upon reaching his workplace, he received a call asking if he knew Kyriaki Griba. Realizing it was about his daughter, he asked if she was alive. The journalist hesitated before confirming her death. Griba then tried calling the police station but no one answered. When he arrived at the station, he saw media crews outside. Inside, he requested to confirm his daughter’s identity but was denied access to officials. Eventually, he traveled to Zephyros Police Station where he officially learned of his daughter’s death 12 hours after it occurred.
