Afghanistan: Taliban assassinate the head of government intelligence

A spokesman for the Taliban has confirmed the killing of Minapal, a spokesman for President Ghani.

The head of the Afghan government’s intelligence service was killed during Friday prayers in Kabul, the interior ministry said.

“Unfortunately, the violent and savage terrorists committed another cowardly act and killed an Afghan patriot who was resisting the enemy’s propaganda, Dawa Khan Minapal, during Friday prayers in the capital,” the spokesman said.

A Taliban spokesman has confirmed that Minapal was killed.

Minapal was a spokesman for Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.
