Aegean Airlines closed 2025 with strong financial performance: €147.8 million in net profit and consolidated revenue of €1.86 billion — a 5% increase year-on-year. The airline carried 17.3 million passengers, nearly one million more than in 2024, and offered 21 million available seats — up 6% — expanding operations both domestically and internationally. This capacity growth, particularly during off-peak months, helped moderate seasonal fluctuations, resulting in an 82.5% load factor.

Middle East Conflict Impacts Operations

Despite solid results, Aegean faces headwinds from escalating tensions in the Middle East. CEO Dimitris Gerogiannis noted that the conflict has led to a 4–5% reduction in flight activity across the region — which accounts for roughly that share of the airline’s total operations. In addition, rising jet fuel costs and heightened market volatility are expected to significantly affect performance, especially in the first quarter of 2026.

“In this new, uncertain environment — whose duration remains unknown — Aegean will once again demonstrate resilience and adaptability,” Gerogiannis said. “Leveraging our extensive crisis management experience, robust cash reserves, and strong risk-mitigation hedging contracts, we remain committed to safeguarding our competitiveness and growth prospects.”

Financial Highlights and Dividend Proposal

The group reported €421.5 million in EBITDA and €192.1 million in pre-tax profit — up 17% — while post-tax profit rose 14% to €147.8 million. These gains were achieved despite €43.3 million in new regulatory costs tied to European emissions rules and the introduction of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

Offsetting some pressures were a partial decline in fuel prices and a notable recovery of the euro against the US dollar. In Q4 2025 alone, Aegean increased available seats by 10%, carried 9% more passengers, and grew revenue by 7% — confirming strengthening demand even during traditionally weaker winter months.

Cash and cash equivalents stood at €955.1 million as of 31 December 2025. The Board of Directors will propose a dividend of €0.90 per share at the upcoming Annual General Meeting.
