With the goal of ‘Zero Accidents-Vision Zero’ and based on effective international practices, as a manager of a crucial road axis, an integrated action plan has been developed focusing on three main pillars: Information, Education, and Awareness to foster responsible road philosophy. Exactly after 17 years since the start of the concession of the Aegean Motorway PATHE Malakos-Klei section, on March 5, 2008, the company held a press conference about its actions and strategic plans for 2025. Investments amounting to millions of euros have led to notable results in road safety initiatives. The Director Advisor of Aegean Motorway, Dimitrios Gatsonis, emphasized the importance of road safety, which is at the core of the company’s activities. Greece, with its new Strategic Road Safety Plan, adopts the ‘Vision Zero,’ aiming to eliminate road fatalities by 2050. In 2024, significant achievements were recorded, including investments of €32 million, enhancing road safety through advanced systems and training. For 2025, the company plans further substantial actions, including road safety education programs and cutting-edge technology installations. Additionally, advanced weighing systems and radar technologies like TraffiStar S290 M are deployed to combat overloaded vehicles and speeding, contributing significantly to road safety.
