An event took place yesterday (9,12025) by the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) and the Ministry of Education for the award of the first five masters admitted to each of the 454 University departments of the country, in the academic year 2024 – 2025, with its presence as an official sponsor. “It is very important to have strong motivation and goals in your life, to love what you do and to continue seeking knowledge. Knowledge is the one that cultivates critical thinking and that in turn, the constructive and productive question that is also the driving force of change and improvement in every area of our lives,” said, among other things, in the greeting sent to students by AEGEAN CEO Dimitris Gerogiannis, during the event held in their honour, at the initiative of the Ministry of Education, Religion and Sports and the Foundation for State Scholarships. Dear students, warm congratulations to each and every one of you for your success to be first admitted to the University Institutions of your choice. “ AEGEAN sponsored the initiative and the event as a “Official Sponsor” and rewarded students in turn, offering each of the approximately 2,300 masters a round-trip trip for any destination of its network, domestic or foreign. The awards for the approximately 2,300 eligible students were announced by the CEO of AEGEAN, Dimitris Geroyannis, in the presence of the Minister, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, and the President of IKY Vasso Kintis, highlighting the timeless commitment of the airline to reward excellence. In addition, AEGEAN covered the mobility needs of those awarded students who chose to attend the ceremony, offering a free roundtrip ticket for domestic flights. CORVERSE The award, as well as the relevant event, was an initiative of the Foundation for State Scholarships and the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sport, in order to recognise and reward the outstanding students of the academic year 2024-2025, highlighting the importance of dedication, hard work, and strengthening excellence as a value to Greek society. This initiative highlights the need for investment in education and science, as key factors in development and progress. It is recalled that AEGEAN, for 25 years, has been actively supporting the field of education, constantly investing in the new generation of professionals with initiatives and programmes encouraging education and offering opportunities for young people to develop academicly and professionally. Specifically, AEGEAN invests in the training of young professionals in the aviation sector through the Pilot Scholarship Program, as well as the Engineering Scholarship Program it implements. The AEGEAN Pilot Scholarship Program began in 2018 and has supported more than 117 young people, 88 of whom have already joined the company’s aircraft pilots. In this programme, the company covers the largest proportion of the cost of training new pilots. Also, in the Engineering Scholarship Program AEGEAN, through collaboration with Olympic Air Maintenance Training Organization, offers Scholarships to obtain a professional degree in engineering aircraft with more than 50 scholarships already having benefited from the program. It is recalled that AEGEAN from 2013 to 2024 implemented the “Close to the Young”, through which it supported more than 1,500 students, providing over 55,000 flight tickets totaling EUR 3.4 million. The program concerned students studying away from their place of residence and meeting specific income criteria while completed at the end of 2024 with the graduation of the last beneficiaries. At the same time, the company supports in practice students, universities and promoters of knowledge, science and innovation, covering air travel to participate or organise academic conferences, student competitions and other actions promoting knowledge and innovation. Finally, it is recalled that AEGEAN has created a targeted product that is intended exclusively for young people and young people between 18 and 25 years old and provides special privileges such as exclusive offers (for example 2 free luggage), discounts (such as a permanent 15% discount on all tickets), competitions, as well as privileges Miles+Bonus.
