A rescue operation unfolded in the Manikia area of Evia, near scenic waterfalls, after two hiking couples became disoriented on a difficult trail on Saturday, March 7, 2026. The Fire Service of Kymi responded immediately, dispatching three fire engines to the site. Police units also rushed to the area, alongside Konstantinos Seferlis, president of the Manikia community, to support search efforts.
Safe Recovery Without Injury
Through coordinated action, both couples were successfully located and safely guided out of the rugged terrain. None required medical attention, and they departed the area in their vehicle.
