Adonis Georgiadis and Pavlos Polakis Clash Again in Parliament

Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis and SYRIZA MP Pavlos Polakis reignited their long-standing feud during a parliamentary committee session on Friday (24.10.25). The heated exchange took place at the Parliamentary Committee on Social Affairs, where Georgiadis challenged Polakis not to request another postponement in their ongoing court case. “Don’t ask for another adjournment. Show up. Let’s go calmly, civilly, to court so you can defend yourself and say whatever you want,” said Georgiadis. Polakis responded defiantly: “If my lawyer has another case he can’t reschedule, I’ll get another delay – in about a month and a half. I’m not afraid.” Georgiadis retorted, “Again your lawyer is busy? He was busy too during the trial with Pouli.” “What can we do? He has many cases,” replied Polakis, prompting Georgiadis to suggest he change lawyers. “No, I won’t. This is the one I want,” insisted Polakis. Georgiadis remarked that this sounded like a pre-announced postponement. The clash extended to healthcare spending, with Polakis interrupting Georgiadis by claiming only “Frappe” had gotten richer. Georgiadis, identifying as Macedonian, countered that “Frappe” is Cretan, sparking further political jabs over business ties. Polakis accused Georgiadis of lying about Eurostat data, while Georgiadis criticized Polakis’ refusal to engage with factual evidence, calling out his avoidance of Google searches.
