ADMIE Presents Cost-Benefit Study of GSI Cyprus-Israel Segment to Regulatory Authorities

in

The Greek Independent Power Transmission Operator (ADMIE) presented the cost-benefit analysis for the Cyprus-Israel segment of the Great Sea Interconnector (GSI), a key part of the broader Greece-Cyprus-Israel electricity interconnection project. The presentation was made before the regulatory authorities of Cyprus (RAeC) and Israel (PUA), with representatives from both countries’ energy ministries and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy present. Conducted by Exergia in collaboration with the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), the study confirms the substantial benefits the GSI will bring to both Cyprus and Israel. By the end of July, ADMIE plans to submit a full investment request file to the respective regulatory bodies to enable a joint decision on Cross-Border Cost Allocation (CBCA). This step is crucial under the EU’s TEN-E Regulation framework to establish a regulatory environment that ensures revenue stability and paves the way for construction.
