ADE: The new central service building has been launched.

Political and state leadership as well as employees attended today (29.10.2024) the new model building complex, in which the central services of the Independent Public Revenue Authority ( ) are housed. The opening took place with the presence of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Finance Minister Kostis Hatzidakis, Deputy Finance Minister Christos Dimas, AADE Governor George Pitsilis, MPs, political and state leaders and representatives of local actors. The official guests were guided to the modern spaces of the new building complex, where they serve 1,100 employees of the Central Services of AADE. The new facilities, at 180 Piraeus Street, are constructed in accordance with international standards of building standards, equivalent to corresponding infrastructure abroad. They have bioclimatic structure, ergonomic workplaces, modern technological equipment, rooms specially designed for the service of citizens and visitors, sports area, playground and cafeteria. The relocation of Central Services is part of the broad organisational reform of the Agency, with the aim not only of aesthetic and functional upgrading, but also of optimising internal communication between Services. At the same time, it contributes to faster and more effective coordination of their work, reducing operational and administrative costs, as well as time for response and administrative procedures. The Prime Minister welcomed the event, stating: “If we had not made this very great progress in the way we operate the ADE, we could not have consistently served our central choice – since the Greek people first trusted us – to proceed to gradual but fiscally sustainable reductions in taxes. Because increased revenue in an economy can come either from growth itself, from GDP growth – and our country today is a protagonist in Europe in this area – or from reducing tax evasion, a practice that we have often served and with which we are in constant war. And the less tax evasion, the more the VAT gap is limited, the more you manage and solve major tax or customs fraud that requires a specialization, the more you add revenue to the state’s funds, so that we can continue with taxation reduction policy.” The Minister of Finance, Kostis Hatzidakis, congratulated AADE and stated: “Even the most distrustful recognize that AADE in recent years has changed for the better. Over 90% of its services are now provided digitally and the system of contact and service of taxpayers changes, as its organizational transformation throughout Greece is completed. ADE is already building a new civil service model based on both digital tools and the creation of central service structures in Athens and Thessaloniki, for a more flexible, citizen-friendly and more transparent tax mechanism. In these two areas, where more than 50% of the country’s population is concentrated, a centre of certification and collection (KEVIS), a centre of service (KEFDE) and a centre for property taxation (KEFOK), assisted by tax services was created. I know that there are still childhood diseases in the operation of KEYDE. They also refer to the Media. The same was true a few months before the introduction of the Jewish people. However, the issue was dealt with in a short time with the necessary changes of adaptation and familiarization in the new operation. The same will happen with the KEVODE. Our aim is for ADE to reach the full digitization of its service, in the meantime having as a priority the winding up of all pending cases that have accumulated. KEVIS and KEVODE, however, are signs of modernisation in relation to what was previously happening.” The Governor of AAD, George Pitsilis, stressed: “The relocation of our Central Services to the new facilities is an important milestone for AADE and marks the beginning of a new era, where the modernisation of our services and the service of the citizen are at the heart. We are particularly happy to complete this ambitious project, with which we are finally turning a page to the Agency tomorrow.”
