Activists Protest at Trump’s Scottish Golf Course with Massive Sand Art

In a unique demonstration, activists from Greenpeace staged a protest against Donald Trump by creating a massive sand portrait of him on the beach near his golf course in Scotland. The environmental organization reported that the activists scaled Trump’s image onto the sandy beach at Turnberry, alongside the message: ‘Time for Resistance – Fight Against Power Grab by the Billionaire.’ The artwork, approximately half the size of a football field, was crafted overnight to highlight Trump’s support for the coal and oil industries. Strikingly, golfers playing nearby may not have even noticed the protest happening just outside the course. This marks the second time in two months that activists have targeted Trump’s luxurious golf resort located on Scotland’s west coast. Greenpeace collaborated with an artistic organization to stencil Trump’s portrait into the sand during the night. The artwork was later erased by the tide. Arbella Hamid, Executive Director of Greenpeace UK, stated in a press release: ‘During his first 100 days in office, President Trump has actively worked to dismantle and weaken environmental protections while attacking those who fight to protect nature and climate.’
