Six weeks after being attacked, a 38-year-old man from Plymouth, UK, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. His ex-partner is accused of collaborating with a gang to orchestrate the attack. On February 21st, Danny Kahlein was at home with his daughter when he was assaulted with acid. The personal trainer was rushed to the hospital but eventually succumbed to his injuries. “As a family, we are struggling to come to terms with Danny’s death. Danny was an incredible father and son,” stated his family. They added, “He was deeply loved by his family and friends, and as a family, we cherish his love and memories. We ask for privacy and respect during this difficult time.” Nine individuals are charged in connection with the assault—seven men from London and two women from Plymouth. Last week, Paris Wilson, Danny’s ex-partner, appeared in court, accused of conspiracy to kidnap and murder Danny Kahlein, as well as involvement in a criminal organization. When the charges were read, the 34-year-old broke into tears. Paris Wilson volunteered at Dartmoor Prison in Plymouth, teaching incarcerated men how to read and write. She is currently in custody and will appear in court on May 12th. Detective Inspector Ben Davies said, “Our thoughts are with Danny’s family and friends during these distressing times. The investigation into the incident, which occurred on Lipson Road in Plymouth, continues. Nine people have already been charged in relation to the incident.”
