A retired obstetrician from Rio, Achaea, is scheduled to appear before the Investigating Judge of Patras on Monday, 9 March 2026, at noon, to answer charges related to child pornography, according to tempo24.news.
Authorities discovered thousands of child pornography files—including photographs and videos—at the suspect’s home in Rio. Among the material were images and videos depicting minors under the age of 12.
Details of the case involving the 82-year-old doctor have shocked local authorities and the public. Notably, investigators found self-produced content—photos and videos taken by the suspect himself—showing underage children in nude and semi-nude poses. According to findings, those children are his own grandchildren.
The arrest took place on the morning of Friday, 6 March 2026, carried out by officers from the Cybercrime Division, assisted by detectives from the Patras Criminal Investigations Subdivision. The operation was conducted with judicial oversight.
During the search, police seized a mobile phone, an external hard drive, and two internal computer hard drives. All digital evidence has been transferred to the Cybercrime Unit for forensic analysis.
