At its Annual General Meeting held on 2 July 2026, the ABAX Group — a major Greek construction and infrastructure company — approved a dividend of €0.10 per share, representing a 40% increase compared to the previous fiscal year. The decision follows strong financial performance in 2025, during which the group doubled both its revenue and EBITDA, and quintupled its net profit.
Strategic Growth and Diversification
ABAX Group Chairman Christos Ioannou highlighted that robust earnings, ongoing de-leveraging, growing institutional investor participation, and business model diversification have laid the groundwork for continued expansion. The group reaffirmed its strategic target of achieving €150 million in EBITDA over the coming years — with more than 40% expected to come from non-construction activities, including public-private partnerships (concessions), real estate, and energy projects. Construction remains the core growth driver.
Strong Financial Performance in 2025
In 2025, ABAX reported revenue of €958 million — up 47% from €651 million in 2024. EBITDA rose 15% to €121 million, with the construction margin exceeding 10%, in line with the company’s long-term target. Net profit after tax reached €48 million, up from €30 million the previous year.
Over the past two years, the group has more than doubled its revenue and EBITDA while increasing net profit fivefold. This positive trajectory continued into 2026: first-quarter revenue grew 17% to €208 million, and net profit remained steady at €11 million — a sign, according to management, that another strong financial year is underway.
Financial Health and Capital Return
The group’s net debt stood at approximately €200 million, with the net debt-to-EBITDA ratio falling below 2x for the first time — settling at 1.7x — underscoring sustained improvements in financial stability.
Since its €20 million capital increase in 2020, ABAX has returned €38 million to shareholders through dividends — including the 2025 payout — meaning it has repaid nearly double the amount investors originally entrusted to the company, all within just six years.
Concession Portfolio Remains Core
Public-private concession projects continue to form a cornerstone of ABAX’s strategy. Its portfolio includes stakes in key infrastructure assets such as the Olympia Odos motorway, the Aegean Motorway, the Thessaloniki Flyover, the Moreas Motorway, and the Tavropos irrigation project.
