The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) is upgrading its Central Control Room in Sepolia, Athens, transforming it into a modern, unified operational coordination center dedicated to tackling tax evasion, smuggling, and economic crime. This new digital ‘war room’ will serve as the nerve center for the General Directorate of Control Forces for Economic Transactions (GDCEOT), aiming to improve real-time coordination among field inspection teams and maximize the use of live data.
Real-Time Monitoring and Advanced Tools
The upgraded facility integrates cutting-edge communication tools, live video feeds from inspection sites—including drone footage—and artificial intelligence (AI) applications. Its core objective is to aggregate and cross-analyze data from AADE’s internal information systems, third-party platforms, and field inspection units. This integration creates a single, real-time operational picture across Greece, enabling precise geospatial tracking of both inspected targets and inspection teams.
End-to-End Operational Support
The Command Center will support inspection teams throughout the entire lifecycle of an operation—from planning and deployment to execution and closure. AI-powered tools will assist inspectors, analysts, and operational coordinators in processing complex information rapidly and making more informed decisions during live interventions.
AI Agents on the Frontline
A key innovation is the integration of AI agents—software systems capable of interpreting environmental data, processing large volumes of information, and performing sophisticated tasks with minimal human intervention. These agents will operate in support of field inspectors, analysts, and command staff, enhancing responsiveness and analytical depth during inspections.
National Geospatial Intelligence Platform
A cornerstone of the new system is an advanced geospatial operational analytics platform. It visualizes inspection targets, active control units, and GDCEOT operations within a unified geographic interface—giving the Center a comprehensive, up-to-the-minute view of enforcement activity across the entire country.
Active Seats for Remote Expertise
The model also introduces ‘Active Seats’—dynamic operational support positions digitally linked to the Command Center. These seats can be manned either on-site or remotely from anywhere in Greece, allowing experienced personnel to join ongoing operations in real time. Their involvement scales according to the type and volume of inspections underway, ensuring timely, expert input where it matters most.
