The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) has launched the digital Receipt of Payment for transactions, introducing significant improvements and simplifications to related procedures. Under decisions issued by AADE Director George Pitsilis, citizens, businesses, and accountants will benefit from streamlined processes—saving time and enhancing service speed.

Digital Receipt Available from 1 July 2026

Starting 1 July 2026, the digital Receipt of Payment for central payments, credits, refunds, and offsets will be issued automatically and delivered instantly via the myAADE digital portal—no application or in-person visit to an AADE office required.

Eligible users can access the receipt through myAADE at: My Account > Digital Receipt of Payment. It covers the following cases:

  • Payments of tax liabilities via banks (using T.O./T.R.O., card, or IRIS)
  • Refunded amounts resulting from withholding tax applied when issuing certificates of tax compliance or debt verification
  • Amounts recovered via third-party asset seizures
  • Centralized offsets

Access is granted to the taxpayer directly, their legal representative, or an authorized accountant specifically empowered for this action.

Alternative Access When Digital Portal Is Unavailable

If a user cannot access the portal, the digital receipt may still be issued upon formal request submitted to the competent AADE office. In 2025 alone, over 7,000 such requests were submitted and processed via the My Requests application.

Security and Verification Features

To ensure authenticity and traceability, each digital receipt includes:

  • A QR code for real-time validity verification
  • Integration with the Validity Check of Digital Receipt of Payment application

New Functionalities Added to myAADE

Effective 1 July 2026, three new options will be added under My Account > Payment Details:

  • Centralized offset of confirmed tax liabilities
  • Centralized offset of installment-plan debts
  • Credit of offset promissory notes centrally

For every transaction, a notification titled Receipt Information will appear. This new functionality allows taxpayers to see exactly which tax liabilities have been credited with a given payment or refund—and also identify any payments or refunds that were not applied to a specific liability, potentially resulting in an overpayment.
