AADE: Intensive ‘Safari’ with 784 Checks at Masked Parties – 365 Violators Identified

During the carnival period, targeted and coordinated inspections were conducted nationwide by the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE). Specifically, AADE’s specialized teams carried out 784 checks across Greece, focusing mainly on catering businesses and seasonal goods. From these inspections, 239 businesses were found with 365 violations related to non-issuance and non-transmission of tax information. Eight businesses in Attica faced a 48-hour lockdown. Notably, inspectors were present in Patras during the carnival, conducting both visible and covert checks. Their presence at venues hosting dances and parties led to the issuance of 3,543 receipts, totaling €545,000. For instance, on February 27, 2025, at a carnival dance event requiring an invitation, 682 receipts worth €59,000 were issued. Similarly, on March 1 and March 2, 2025, further significant receipts were issued at other events.
