AADE: 2-Year Fuel Station Ban and €100,000 Fine for Smuggling in Preveza

Inspectors from the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) conducted a targeted on-site inspection at a fuel station in the broader area of Preveza following risk analysis and utilization of digital data. The inspectors uncovered violations committed by the owner of the fuel station that led to severe penalties. Among the findings were an unauthorized tanker containing 120 liters of heating oil without purchase receipts and a metal tank with a capacity of 10,000 liters, holding 150 liters of fuel without purchase documentation. The tank was neither licensed nor integrated into the supply system. The illegal tanker and tank were seized, and the station was sealed. The owner was arrested and charged with smuggling via expedited procedures before the prosecutor, facing administrative fines amounting to €100,000. Samples of the fuels were sent to the relevant Chemical Service for testing possible adulteration. Concurrently, procedures were initiated to publish the company’s details on the AADE website.
